Fished the 3 to dark last night in the rip. No birds to be seen. Went deep with white decievers and larger flatwings from the end of the outgoing and into the incoming. A few other boats came in and no one hooked up. Pretty dead. On the way back in a few birds started working over bait 300yds off the shoreline or so. Saw a splash and sprinted for it but was short lived and nothing was there when I got a cast off. Pretty dead night. Flat calm though so I expected to be able to spot something...not even a bluefish.
