Went out friday and started on monomoy on the rip just north of the "8" bouy. Jigging was unproductive, so switched to the trusty eel. It was dry until I drifted back into the 60+ water right around #8 and hit a fat, 37" stripe. There were some big blue's (15-18lbs) also. Tide went flat so we burned the time durring slack to head south to the Old Man Shoal. Instantly marked tons of fish on the sounder, all very large blues with some big bass underneath. Spent the rest of the day trying to get underneath then but no luck. Still gonna be a few weeks before it really starts to heat up.
