My fiberglass kayak paddle (two piece) is stuck together I am assuming due to salt. Any suggestions on how to separate it? It's a lot more convenient to travel when it comes apart. Thanks.
Try running under VERY hot water for a long time. It should help to break up the salt deposits and create some thermal expansion. Try a twisting and pulling motion to.

Vinegar or CLR may help dissolve the salt.

Second the hot water recommendation. Once you get it off take 200 grit wet sandpaper and lightly sand the female end. Also, I have heard that Epic paddles sells a lubercant for paddles.

Soak it in fresh water(I mean really soak it), then "tap it" carefully with a block of wood around the joint.
