Beautiful day, no fish. The day before there were a few Gannets diving just in front of the inlet but true to form as soon as I got close enough to cast the birds cleared out and the splashes stoped. Nothing there. No sign of anything else, a few birds farther out but same deal. Highlight of the day was a Whale that came up really close, but too fast to get a pic. A trucks and bait guys at the inlet but didn't see any fish caught. Most just sat in the truck. Plenty of Dogs on anything shiny near the bottom a mile or so out..

Shaun...your pics are better than a trip to the Aquarium! :)
You do and see such a variety of things.
Nauset Harbor is among my favorite places to kayak. I have only been there 3 times, but it is beautiful. Clearest salt water I have ever seen in NE. The tidal creeks are like trout fishing for stripers. Then Nauset beach is right there too. Cool. I have lived in Mass all my life and just discovered Nauset this year....sheesh. I need to get out of the house more.

Thats a neat pic.
I never noticed the holey thing in a dog fishes head before.
I gotta pay more attention. They kind of give me the creeps ( I guess its a shark thing) I just snip them off.

Guys.... thats an area I fish often... but I guess I'm a wuss and just stay inside the inlet when I bring my Kayak. I pretty much use it to hunt down some fish on the inner Marsh or use it for transportation to get to the Inlet. Then I would just beach the Yak and get out and work the outer beach & inlet from shore. You guys are a lot more skilled than me but if its a falling tide that current really rips through there and can be pretty tough & bouncy for me anyway..kind of like skiing through a mogul field.
I've got a small center consol now... and I still try to be pretty careful when I'm heading through.
