From floater we go to the very bottom. This is a burrowing sand eel... I have tied these without mylar and up the hook bend...but it straightened out on stripping. This has Mylar with olive marker down the back. 1/3 of the fly has a free tail of pearl flashabou and olive thin hackles. The hackles are also in the mylar. The head is weighted and epoxied and the mylar will keep it upright. This must be stripped VERY slow. The hook is a #2 short shanked Varivas....By the way, the idea for a burrowing sand ell , but without the Mylar, I got from Derrek Spangler up at First Light Anglers.
