View Full Version : Chesapeake Stripers
While for some it's primarily a trolling game down there, I have been asked to tie some flies for a beginning SWFF on the Chesapeake.
Planning on clousers, deceivers, a few poppers and looking for a local favorite....
Any recommendations?
Thanks,

Roopster-
I have a friend who fishes that area quite often and he tells me that his most used pattern is a yellow over white half and half.
I'm sure there are others and this may be a confidence thing, but it works very well for him.
Thanks Mark - I'll include a few.
I hope you had a great season with the new boat.
Hopefully things will calm down for us when #3 arrives in a few weeks & we can get together next season.

Duly noted, Jeff. I know things have been crazy for you this year.
Congratulations on the closing arrival of the baby. Pass on our best wishes to your wife. I'll keep in touch.

I fish primarily with three different Clousers - chartreuse over white with lots of gold flash, black over tan over white with lots of silver flash, finally lavender over grey over white with lots of pearl flash. Make sure that the flash extends about 1/4" beyond the end of the bucktail.
