Looking for suggestions on a custom bow rail or casting brace for my boat. Its only a matter of time before I take a swim. And yes I always wear a PFD!!!

Needs to function with a bow mounted trolling motor.

Any suggestions on design? functionality? simplictiy of installation?. The photo below is of a sistership, and will show you what I have to work with.

Thanks

All the casting braces I have seen have been custum made sort of a moon shaped piece of alum tubing tig welded to an upright that is thru bolted with a backing plate under the casting deck. Try Birdsall marine, or smittys marine fabrication. also try typing in marine fabriction with your search engine and see what comes up call around and see if anyone can weld one up for you.Otherwise My freind has a hyde drift boat with this slick removable casting brace in the rear. I often wondered if hyde would sell the casting brace and the deck mounted inserts ?

Where are you located? Any local welding or metal fabrication shop should be able to custom make you one.

As for designs, here is one from the limited edition 1997 Boston Whaler Outrage Cross Tackle:

Thanks,,
that looks like a cool design,
it could be made removable without to much trouble.

I'm located in NH.

I saw this on the net thought you might find it interesting
www.pro-trim.com they make a stand for flyfishing that is like a cage around your lower body with one of those tarpon tamer type line keepers mounted to the front hope that helps

Check out Ebay! Saw a great leaning post for your boat. Just listed @$150 starting bid. Would bid myself but I'm looking for one made out of stainless.

Good Luck. (*)))>{

Try this link http://www.fish-maine.com/bow_cages.htm
I use one on my Maritime Skiff as shown in photo. Just lift in out or turn it at different angles. Works great.
