IF THE FLYFISHING ON GRAND CAYMAN IS LESS THAN DESIRABLE, DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS ABOUT LITTLE CAYMAN- PLACES TO STAY THAT AREN'T A FORTUNE; LOCATIONS ON THE ISLAND TO LOOK FOR FISH; FEASABILITY OF GOING WITHOUT A GUIDE ? NEXT QUESTION WOULD BE-IF I DO GET STUCK TRYING TO FISH GRAND CAYMAN ARE THERE OTHER INSHORE/BACKWATER OPTIONS FOR SPECIES OTHER THAN BONEFISH?

Check out AnglingReports.com and you may find answers. Grand Cayman has a plethera of tarpon and tropical species. But they are all protected for the scuba and snorklers. Little Cayman is not expensive. Look for places to stay on the Cayman website. The names of places have changed since I was there last. I recommend a boat to get you around, an islander can drop and retreive you in fishable places. There is an inshore tarpon lagoon to fish as well.

The fishing down there is great. Just fishing of the beaches you can get tons of jack, snapper, and pompano. The fish off the beach were hitting anything. I actually had a lot of luck with a frog popper, but I would recommend a clowser.
There is a sport fishing company on the island I cant remember the name but I think it might me on the north end, but if you can get there just after any of the trips are coming in you can have a 99% chance of hooking up with a tarpon or sting ray. I found the sting ray more challenging of a fight, but the tarpon were just fun to see jumping. I was throwing a herring pattern I had made for stripers or a clowser.
Night fishing of the beaches is another great thing down there. Throwing clowsers or dead minnows on my spinning rod. Doing this I got a lot of tarpon in the 2-3 ft range. Another option at night/dusk is to go down to a marina and fish the lights, or wait till a party boat gets in from its evening trip and while they are washing it down there are swarms of jack and small tarpon.
A trip to Little Cayman is problem worth it from what I have heard, but I was able to find some great fishing on Grand Cayman

I thought the Southern cross club did bonefishing trips/guiding out of Little Caymen!

Or check out Randall Kaufmanns book 'Bonefishing'
Little Caymen gets a covering in it.
