Okay boys and girls, Uncle Dave the Friendly Moderator here with a new end-of-year game to keep us all amused through the next three weeks.

This game is the literate version of the Reel-Time calendar. You know, the one where everyone sent in their favorite picture and we'll sell them back to you on an awesome calendar sometime in the next week or so?

Right.

So, this one is a little harder to play, but a lot more fun. It's called: The Best Thread of 2003. Not the best single post, the best thread.

Here's how you play. Go troll around in the archives or use the search engine. Find the thread. Copy the address and reply to this thread with the address of the thread. Tell us a little bit why you like it, such as, "I really like the way Poster A flamed Poster B and Poster C at the same time, all while inventing a cool new insult. Boy Moderator Bob was fast to lock that one down!"

or

"That Guy! He's so funny. He made me pee my pants. "

A team of crack judges, also known as your Esteemed Team of Moderators, will cull through each and every suggestion and pick the ten best.

Those ten will be posted in a poll and you, the people, get to pick your American Idol ... no, make that, your Reel-Time Thread of the year.

We'll think of a prize later but it will doubtlessly involve a Reel-Time bumpersticker.

So, start digging. Rules are it has to have been posted in 2003. Flames, locked threads, anything goes. Best writing. Poetry. Insult. New term. Gripping suspense story. Anything goes.

If there are enough submissions we might even think about categories: like best locked thread. Flame Fest of the Year. Funniest Thread. Best Boat Story. Etc. Etc. Contest ends on New Year's eve.

All the top ten threads make it to the Hall of Fame.

PS: if you want to nominate one of your own threads, but don't want to appear too self-promoting, feel free to email me.
