This put-in is at the entrance to the Dear Island Sewage Treatment plant. The smell can be interesting but the fishing is good. There are two put-ins here. The rocky one is on the other side of the seawall and puts you in the harbor. The other is on the bay side and is sandy. Take care as you head towards the tip of Dear Island. There is a very strong current at the mouth of the harbor and rips with standing waves are common. This is also the main shipping channel for Boston so there is a good bit of boat traffic.
