Hello Flyfisher!
I am a cigarsmoking flyfisher from Norway that needs to get warmed up (from all the cold and snow), and is planning to visit some Cigarmaking friends in Nicaragua from 8th of to the 25th of January. I am also going to Honduras, and maybe Costa Rica.
I want to flyfish for species that is typical for these waters, but don`t have a budget to go by the packages the multimillion$ resorts offer.
Any good tip on fishing would be higly apprechiated.
Thanks!

Greetings!- Good luck with your trip. I would think the best bet would be to make the inquiry with your cigarmaking friends, (locals). I have flyfished saltwater a little bit on the east coast of Costa Rica and Belize. In general the east coast of C.A. is not wadeable. Far as I know the west coast isn't wadeable either, although I have heard of Roosterfish being caught off beaches on the west coast with spinning/conventional gear. I think you will probably find some freshwater flyfishing inland. A lot of Central America is rain forest. Trees not only near the water, but extending over it, and thick! I hope you post the flyfishing results of your trip.
