Follow Rt 12 north or south depending on where you are coming from. Access to several types of water and species.

Spot 1. - Oregon inlet fishing center. Plenty of public parking and an easy launch spot. Public marina. No cost. If you get near the channels there is heavy boat traffic but is easily avoided. Within a short 1/4 mile paddle in any direction you have acess to great water in the sound. Redfish, croaker, speckled trout, Stripers, Bluefish, and flounder are the usual targets. Sneak out just before light and through sunrise and you have the place to yourself and access to plenty of weed beds and great water. Paddle to the Oregon inlet bridge pilings and a good spot for Speck's and Sheepshead.

Spot 2. - Located just past the bridge, Launch on either side of the road, about 50 spaces in a free parkign lot. No cost for launching. Small sand beach. Same species. SWIFT CURRENTS!!! near the inlet. Launch on the sound side and the currents are not nearly as bad. Several deep holes and shallow bars, great for flounder. Usually heavy boat traffic near the bridge, tough currents. You could also truck it over to the ocean side but its a long portage in usually hot weather.

The inlet itself is a nasty spot for a kayak. Do not recomend negotiating the inlet, or the outside area. Take one look and you will know where not to go. The inlet is a better spot to wade anyway with steep drop offs.

Occaisionally Dolphins and Yellowfin find their way into the inlet.
