I thought I'd post some tips and cool things I've picked up while exploring the features of Reel-Time's new forum system.
Feel free to chip in with observations, short cuts, etc.

While the old forum had a calendar, no one really used it. The system picked up users' birthdays and posted them, but this new version seems very useful. I just posted a calendar entry for Tom Gilmore's visit over the next two weeks to discuss his book False Albacore. There's entries for the winter's fly shows, fly tying classes, and opportunities for you to add entries of your own.
I don't know what the permissions are for posting to the public calendar? Can anyone do it Mark?

If you want to see every photo you've ever posted, check out the User CP (where a ton of really cool new features live) and look down at the bottom left menu for "attachments". You'll get a list of everything you've ever posted, and you can switch on thumbnails to see small examples.

So, you've just composed a brilliant post, you submit it, and to your horror you see a typo. So you edit the message and the first thing you see is a blank box asking for a the reason for editing. This is not mandatory, but you can note your reason -- typo, changed your mind, whatever -- and, as you see in the bottom of my previous post, where it notes that the post was edited, now you know why since I typed "typo."
No big deal. Just another gizmo.

You'll see in the User CP something in the left menu called "group memberships." There you can join one of several groups -- Florida Reel-Timers, New England Reel-Timers, Fly Tying.
What are they good for? I'll let Mark explain.
