We've got a family reunion in Sourthern Vt in August. I'd like to organize a class III raft trip within a 60 minute drive.

Please give me advise on rafting guide services that I can use. Thanks.

Strange request for a flyfishing board. but we aim to please.

In southern Vermont, about the only game in town would be the Deerfield River.
There are two sections that are rafted commercial.
I take a group of seventh grades on the lower section which is like the bunny slope of rafting. Mostly class 2 with one class three pop (Zoar Gap) which makes for a great photo opt. It is about a 12 mile trip and incudes lunch.

The upper section (Dry Way) is a 4 mile section of almost continuous class three rapids with two class four pops.

I have never rafted the upper section although as a rated class 3 solo open canoist, I've paddle it several times. Quick the adrenal rush.
Zoar Gap in Charlemount would be the company I would reccomend. The other major company in the area is Crap Apple.
