Just signed up here and I have to say, this is the greatest forum around.

I am planning a trip to the Bahamas in late February or March and I am having a tough time deciding between Exuma and Eleuthera. Any info would be appreciated. Better fishing where? Best spot to take the wife?

I will get a guide for the first 2 days then go on my own. Which place is best for this?

Where should a guy rent a car from? Boat?

Where should a guy stay? We are trying to do this trip for a resonable price. Don't need anything to fancy.

Any info would be great.

I'm going to be trying my luck later this in eleuthera and would greatly appreciate any information, particular about spots in the southern part of the island as well as flies -- colors sizes etc?

The plan is to hire a guide one day, then give it a shot on my own.

If you have any advice, i can be reached best via email

We've rented a house called "Foolish Pleasure" located on South Palmetto, Eleuthera. Very nice home, and sort of centrally located.
Also, take a look at some of the homes right in Governor's Harbour. There are a couple gingerbread stlye, Bahamian homes which can be rented very reasonably.
Also, there are some very reasonable rentals on the northern tip of Eleuthera called Spanish Wells. This is a very isloated lobstering community, which has some excellent bonefish flats located all along it's northern tip.
