Did a little pre - Super Bowl fishing yesterday on a pond in Chatham. The tally was a pickerel, a 4# large mouth and 4 perch on shiners. All were all nice and fat, but he action was slow. (Enough time to go to my in - laws across the street for a Manhattan) :-%
One of the perch was all yellow, verging on gold. It didn't have a bit of green or orange, but it was definatley a yellow perch. Has anyone seen a perch with coloration of that kind before?
Well, hope the ice keeps holding. It should with 8 - 10" from what I recorded.
