I know I have seen this question posted before but can't seem to find it. (tried the search feature - mustn't be usin' right keywords).

Looking for a reputable place to purchase materials on-line. Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

You might try one of the reel-time affiliates. They will be reputable and it helps keep reel-time going.

MY advice is by what you can hands on.

I buy most of my stuff online cause I know what will happen if I walk into a fly shop. I will be poor when I walk out.

I buy all my bucktails from Saltwateredge.com
Everything else comes from saltwaterflies.com

I trust both sources and if they don't carry it i will go to Urban Angler NYC.
If i still can't find it, I probaly don't need it

use the keyword - online

There are several threads under that for hooks and materials.

Otherwise, Saltwater edge (go through RT here http://www.reel-time.com/fishwire/newcms/sponsorguide.php?regionid=4 is a great source of high quality materials!

You could also try the "Bearsden.com". Good quality and a good guy. The others mentioned are also teriffic. I have dealt with Saltwater Edge and Saltwaterflies.com, and they have high quality materials.

I have had good luck with www.feather-craft.com also. They carry a wide variety and they mail things out promptly.

Has anyone had any experience with Hunters Angling? What type of price differences have you found between online and brick and mortar type fly shops with respect to materials? Who else is pumped for this years upcoming fly swap season?

There is a reason this shop has been twice mentioned. I have never seen more consistent bucktails than those sold by the Saltwater Edge. The only rival is the Rumf Primos. Some colors are better than others according to the time frame you buy it in. This principal revolves around what's coming in, in relation to when they're dieing. Their flourescent yellows and whites are consistenly excellant. I buy my bucktails from no one else.
