So I fnally got some flags with the circle hook setup on my tip-ups, out of three flags, I landed two pickeral and one nice brown, all hooked in the corner of the mouth.

Details? Were the fish running? Did you set the hook in the typical manner or did you have to adjust your hook set?

one of the picks and the brown we're running pretty hard, I picked up the trap and grabbed the line, didn't pull set, just held it firmly till I felt the fish on the end. The other pick was just sitting when I pulled the line up and then felt him on it. I was using #6 circle hook on 5ft of 6lb fluro to the swivel. The picks teeth did no damage to the line because the hook was perfectly in the corner of the mouth. Today I was using 2" emerald shinners, which have the same size and profile as the smelt which are the primary forege in the lake. I was fishing in about ~10ft water with a nice sand bar running up to a weed bed. I had my lines set at all depths, but mostly a couple feet below the ice.
I really like the light circle hook with the light #line, it allows the smaller baits to swim freely and you can get away with a small splitshot.
