I have never cast the XTR. Will a warranty card come with the rod? I would suggest you cast the Diamondback Backwater 3 pc. and the TFO TiCr 4 pc. in the same line weights before spending your money.

That is a very fast rod, I HIGHLY recommend casting (any rod, but esp the XTR) before you buy. It won't be much of a bargain if you end up not liking it.

This is true, you should give the XTR a try before buying it. That really holds true for any rod.
I really like the XTR series and have the 8 and 10 wt's. The 10 is a great boat rod in my opinion. It's made very well and it slings shooting heads like a cannon. But still, you ought to try it for yourself before laying down the cash.

I use the XTR's exclusivly for all of my Saltwater and Pike/Carp fishing.. I LOVE these rods.. but they are VERY fast. You really have to like the double haul and use it pretty much all the time. Alot of guys overline them with a floater by one size up, but your really don't have to if you cast the rod aggressivly. I've cast alot of rods from alot of companies, and in my opinion, for sinking lines there is no better rod. For being as stiff as it is, I think it has quite a bit of feel, which is why I like it.
