Greetings:
My wife and I have been invited to a wedding in Honduras this June. We are exploring options for fishing on the back end of the wedding in either Roatan or Utila. Does anyone have any sage advice? Don't misses or be sure to misses? Any lodges people love or hate? They all look great on the web pages but I am sure there are some duds. Any push in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Tight Lines:

Interesting Roatan should come up.
I bumped into a guy in Miami three weeks back who said he was on his way back from there. I was in line at Starbucks getting coffee, and I saw this guy standing in front of me. In his carry on, I spotted several fly reels, and struck up a converstaion. Turns out he was on his way back from Roatan Islands, Honduras.
He spoke of a great trip. He and his wife stayed in these "stilt houses" built on stilts directly over the water. He claimed he got them for $800 per week! He had excellent bone fishing, but most of the fish were smallish (2-5lbs). But he said freelance guides ran about $100 per day (nice if it's true).
I gave him my e-mail address, and he promiosed to send along info about the place. So far, I've yet to hear back...
