Has anyone ice fished South End Pond in Millis? I haven't been there in about ten years. Used to be you could access it via a dirt road. Don't know if a housing development has sprung up or what the case is.
Any info is appreciated.

Its off of the road to Sherborn (115??). Bogastow brook flows into it. You can canoe up to it via the Charles.

Dom,
There is still access to South end via the dirt road that you spoke of. I haven't been Ice fishing there in years, but have friends that F-Fish the shores durring the summer, and consistently pull decent size large mouth out of there. Good luck.

And it is still fairly well-protected and undeveloped; it's part of the town's water supply, and there's a gate which prevents cars from getting within a couple of hundred yards of the water, so there's a nice little carry for canoe/kayak.
I took a kayak in there a couple of times last year - did Ok on largemouth in the channel fom the pond to the Charles, not so well in pond itself.
It's a nice, remote-feeling paddle fairly close to Boston. There was an osprey hanging around the pond last time I was there

I was there years ago at dusk and witnessed an osprey smasing into the water and grabbing a fish. It was pretty amazing.

Mike,
It is pretty weedy but its a great pond for a popping bug. When I fished there I got a ton of Crappie on the fly rod.
