I recently purchased a heavier rod to get into larger fish. Does anyone have a mid to upper quality reel for an 8 wt that they want to part with?

In browsing my local FF shop, I took a fancy to the Ross Caynon, but the price brought me here.

You can email me at:

flyfishgal@prodigy.net

Thanks!

If You are still looking, around here for inexpensive it seems that the Teton fly fishing company reels, Their teton, and Tioga seem to get high praise. They are saltwater/freshwater, and priced Tioga 8# about $150, Teton 8# about $240.
If you are set on a high end reel, they seem to hold their value. You might try Ebay aswell if you are into that.

not sure what you mean by "upper quality" reel, that can mean different things to different people.

Try eBay for a Tibor Everglades or Charlton 8500 .8 Either of those ought to qualify as "upper" in most peoples books.

If you don't want a large arbor, I see Ross Gunnison 4 reels for sale all the time. They are no longer manufactured. I have had one since before I 'discovered' large arbors. It has plenty of backing capacity and all the drag you should need for fishing with an 8 wt. It is saltwater capable. Mine's not for sale because I still use it for fresh water and as a saltwater backup.
