when i took my fly tying class in december, our instructor used Gudebrod HT Braid Thread on almost every fly. i have found it very helpful and use it on most of my flies. I tend to buy my materials on ebay but have not been able to find this product on ebay for the last few months. So i figure that you guys must use another, but similar, product. so what is it that you use? I use this on bodies, and also pull it apart a bit and use it for flash.

Hi Jacob, I use a pearl color braid I found at a fabric store - 10 yards for $ 1.75

I'm with punchshot on the braid from the craft stores. It comes in quite a few colors and is really cheap - my middle name. :brow

That braid that Punchshot uses, I picked up some this weekend at AC Moore. Mine was on sale. The name is Plastic canvas I believe. Cost of mine was 80 cents for 10 yards I bought a few. I also picked up some gurgler foam. Saltwaterflies has this stuff for 1.50 a page, I bought mine for 33 cents each. Does anyone know if you can find Krystal Flash or Flashaboo at these places? What is the name of it there?
