Saw a post on another site that Sage Reels are now being Manfactured in Korea what are your views.

I had a few 3400D's and one 3500D a few years ago and found them to be rather susceptible to rapid corrosion around the base of the reel seat. I don't think that particular problem had much to do with where they are made though. They do have a pretty nice drag system: sealed, smooth, numbered click stops, etc.
With Sage now marketing through the big-box stores like Cabelas and others, moving production overseas (IF they are indeed doing so) may be a way of keeping up with demand while keeping the manufacturing costs low.
I'm not sure if a single company can make the best components for every aspect of the sport. Sage makes nice rods, other companies make great reels, while an entirely different group of companies make good hooks...
