well, as the subject of this thread says, i just picked up my new bonefishing gear. --127-3- --127-3- --127-3-
after much research into the better-known brands, i ended up picking up something totally different that i'd never heard of! :)
REEL: Old Florida 6SA (Super Arbor)
It has an infinitely adjustable cork drag and fit 220 yds of dacron backing on it without any trouble. The reel seems very well made, and very comparable to the Ross reels they had at the store.
ROD: Albright EXS 890 (9 ft 8 wt)
This rod casts as well as the $565 Scott rod that I tried out, but only costs $325. It also has a very interesting marbled aqua color scheme which gives it a unique look.
Just had to share my excitement!!! --127-3- Anybody else out there using either of these pieces of equipment?
