anyone ever fish in acapulco

going to be in acapulco for a week in march. would like to get out and catch some fish. does anyone have any experience down there? I am coming from boston so the area and the fishing is totally foreign area to me. thanks for any help.

I can't tell you about acapulco specifically, but I have fished Baja a few times. Your options will be a charter or a panga (much cheaper) if you want to get some quality fish. Most of the boats are oriented to the angler who wants to put a fish in the boat and doesnt care how. Talk to your skipper and tell them what you want and they will usually do it.

I always bring stuff for casting off the beach. You never know what you will catch, but there are a lot of different fish along shore many of them small. I always bring a rod with 4-6 pound test and small jigs, but you could do just as well or better with the flyrod. Small jacks, triggerfish, bonefish, ladyfish, puffers, trumpetfish, cabrilla, etc etc you just never know.
