For a larger profile on a flatwing streamer I have added a second collar as well as flaring both collars. The flare is done by either adding two thread wraps behind where the bucktail is tied in (and after the bucktail is tied in) and/or by building a mound of thread or body braid behind where the bucktail is tied. In either case, there is an incline that is abut to the bucktail that will push the hair upwards. In addition, the threads should be tied with extra tension which will add to the flair. With different ways of flaring bucktail varying profiles can be accomplished. It will also aid in pushing water.
