Ive been reading some good things about Old Florida reels. Anyone have any practical experience with them? Considering a purchase.

There very nice & rugged I think (Not sure) they manufacture the Gold Cup fly reels for Bass pro shops saltwater catalog. I was considerind them for this upcoming season But in the end I went with the Ross Canyons #6. The Old florida Super Arbor in Blue sure looked nice. and that Nautillus reel they came out with looks Good. I like to wait until somthings been out a while to see if it holds up.

They are well made reels and a good value for the $$. More than capable of holding their own with many larger names.

I used a 8SA quite a bit last season, and it didn't disappoint. Found the drag system on it slowed the runs of large sea run blues off Chatham fast than the Nautil spinning reel I was also using.

The line pickup on the SA is fantastic, very quick.

The past winter I grabbed one of the Nautilus in the 10 size. Can't wait to try it out this season.

I own a 66, very good reel. Can't beat the price although they are starting to go up. I also just bought a Harris Solitude IV for $270. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but am very impressed by the outward craftsmanship.
