from what I have heard, not first hand, but its holdovers starting to be active with the warm spell. They are not new fish on herring.

This is where the winter-over fish come up from the power plant. Early season they chase the smelt up to the dam. If you haven't fished here before, this is a very industrial area (quite pungent) with a big CSO. CSO's dump untreated sewage into the water when there is a big storm.

They are catching them from boats on the bottom with white jigs. Don't eat them. They taste like mud.

That brown stuff in the Mystic isn't mud my friend.....
