Herring Fly

Hi
Heres a Herring Fly I tied. I have never seen a herring so I am not sure what they look like so could u tell me if the size and color combination is correct adn if anyone has a good picture that shows there color and shape would be a lot of help.

I live right in the heart of live herring country, and that's a pretty nice looking fly! I've thrown an awful lot of live herring over the years, and that fly will take it's share of bass.
Only two things I would consider adding.
1. A slight amount of pink or lavender along the lateral line.
2. There's a lot of material there. Wrap the shank of the hook with some lead wire to increase the sink rate upon hitting the water.

Otherwise, that's a herring fly! --127-3-
