I'm looking at planning a fishing trip and was thinking either Florida area for Redfish, Tarpon and Snook - or maybe Seattle area for Salmon/Steelhead. I'm not sure when the best time is to hit the Seattle area for either species. Anyone out there have any ideas on what to expect in Seattle in that timeframe. Also looking for recommendations on guides and what areas to target. I'd like to get a guide for two days and spend a few days exploring and trying out some spots.

Hi Dave...that time of year you'd be looking at the early spring run of Kings moving towards the Columbia river...out of seattle not so great...you might want to look a little further north into British Columbia, Canada (where i'm from) or head to the Olympic Penninsula...it is a great time of year to catch salmon, halibut, and bottomfish like snapper and ling-cod but Seattle (located within Puget Sound) is not a very good location to start...are you looking to flyfish?

i may be a few months too late but if you're a trooper and want some incredible fishing(who doesn't?)...late july and on,southwest wa(1.5 hrs from seattle)has what you need.i'd give you more info, but reliable steelhead spots are as precious as great stock tips!!contact me via e-mail if you're still going this year.
