there is one inside dowses beach that has the pefect curve of an evil kanevil ramp. I have a pic at home, try to post tonight.

How did that happen?
Large amounts of ice get wedged under it then the tide come in and float it up?
Enquiring mind wants to know.

All around the coves and harbors of the Barnstable area you see similar damage after a cold winter like we had. Yes the ice freezes around the poles and the tide rises. Repeat the procedure over many tide cycles and poles can be pulled totally out.
It would not surprise me to hear of "incidences" of boats hitting or seeing logs floating in the water this spring.
In Barnstable, they had to repair/replace at least 15 posts at the Blish pt. marina.
