Goodafternoon;
I'd like to try a little flyfishing for Pike in the Concord River . Can anyone tell me where I can launch a canoe in Concord or Bedford, and would this be a good part of the river to try?
Thanks in advance.
Steve.

A lot of folks put in off of rte 225. There is a very nice large area where you can either back in a trailer or put in a boat or canoe. 225 is the road which connects Carlisle to Bedford. Also much further upstream there is a huge bay (I forget the name) but in that bay (I know a lot of guys have gotten some nice big pike. I'll have to double check the name though.

Fairhaven Bay is what pete is thinking of. It's near the intersection of Rt. 117 and Sudbury Road in W. Concord.

If you have a boat that is small enough to carry or drag for a few hundred feet there is a nice access road on rt 117 which is right near the bay. When you launch go right and the bay is a few hundred feet away......shhh dont tell anyone :)
It is a very long boat ride from the 225 launch site to fairhaven bay. It took me almost an hour to get to fairhaven bay from the 225 boat launch with a small crawdad and a 2hp honda engine. If you launch from the 225 launch go left which will take you towards the bay....good luck and let us all know how you do!
Has anyone been fishing in the concord and what were there results?

Thanks fellas;
Lurch, your plan about the access road off rt. 117 sounds good, I'd rather fish than paddle. I'll see if I can find it.
Thanks again for the info guys.
Steve.

I launched from there last week. Still about 4" of ide in the bay that you launch in. Still some ice in Fairhaven. With a little rain and this week's warm weather it should be ice free soon (maybe now).
The parking lot can fill up at the launch ramp, but if you are there early, you won't have any problem.
