Wachusett Res ice report?

Is ice out on wachusett yet, and are the lakers hitting?

Actually its opening April 3th I heard.

I went out on a road bike ride yesterday whose route circles wachusett resevoir and was surprised to find that except for about 10' from shore and the river inlets that wachusett is still locked up in ice.

What's the situation @ Wachusett? Is the season officially open (and is the water open)? --124-3

Would also like to know if the ice is gone. I am thinking of going up for the fist time from R.I. and don't want to make the drive for nothing. Also if there is anyone that knows the area and wants to hook-up on on Sunday 4th let me know.

Called bait shop in the area. He said some ice in the coves but for the most part it is open. This is info I go over the phone. If it is wrong let me know. --127-3-

When did they change the spelling of that place?

Being from Worcester, I always thought it was spelled like it was pronounced... Whachewzit. (#$119)

I live right next to it. Some spots are open, but my special little spots don't get much direct sun and are still frozen. Water height is very high - highest I've seen for any spring.
