View Full Version : White Pond - Sat. 03/27/04
Fly-fished White pond on Saturday with my buddy Steven. We used belly boats, black or chartreuse wooly buggers and hornberg flies. Did not hook up but still had a good time. Powerbaiters got a few fish, all rainbows. Guys trolling wooly buggers from a boat with electric motor also got a few. Saw a few fish rising to .......... powerbait floating on the surface --124-3
Patrick,
Sounds like a good time was had regardless of the catch. I spent the better part of the day chasing a little white ball around a big green field with all kinds of holes and big sandy spots in it.

Ps. Just 3 more weeks!!!!

What course is open now?
PeteV,
I've played at Newton Commonwealth, Franklin Park, and Pinecrest so far. I was hoping that Glenn Ellen would be open but the rain was held that off.
I'm headed to Arizona in 2 weeks for a golf vacation!!
Then when I get back it's fishin` time!!

Thats pretty cool!! courses on the North side of 128 don't seem to be open yet.
This time of year its tough for me .. I tend to hit a high ball so it gets sucked into the muck. its tough to find and then you have to "de-gunk" the ball....yuck...
Do you know anyone with a Wood Bros "Corker". I had a very nice cork filled persimmon driver but it got swiped. now I'm back to my my 975J with Graffaloy shaft not bad but its not "the Corker"

I grew up down the street from pinecrest not it's a bad course...
Not a bad little course. SUnday it was like a swamp though. But then again most courses were. I was hoping to get out this weekend, but it looks aweful wet out there.
I do a cool fishing and golfing day trip in chatham frequently.
Fishing at sunrise, golf at mid day, then fishing a sunset!!!

sounds like fun but I'm horrible at golf!! I'm a hockey player.. :)
HOCKEY!! Me too. Goalie!!
I must confess though, I down to roller and floor hockey now. I play 2 - 3 times per week. My floor hockey team won the league championships last season. This league is very competitive and a great workout. I played last night and won the first game of a new season. 1-0-0 !!!
