I am finishing up my boat building project and am looking for people to fish with.
The projected lauch date is May 15 with luck. Final Painting in June.
Available times are most evenings after 5:00PM EARLY mornings on the weekends (back by 9:00AM) and an occasional all nighter. That said the weekends of June 4 and July 3. are filled. I live on the north shore and can meet in Beverly, Ipswich or maybe Newburyport with other locations considered.
The boat- is a homebuilt OD-16 designed by Bateau.com folks. It is not currently set up as a center and the final finish is in flux but should be excellent for two people to flyfish from.
I will consider one or two people. Sorry no children under ten and you must supply them with a life preserver that they will wear. But yes I will consider children for short periods of time.
Please bring coffee. Extreme caffine addiction.

I'm considering building one of their small skiffs for clamming, pond fishing and duck hunting. How did the process go and could you post a picture.

Jacob, MarkyMark
The boat will be in the water by the 15th of May and we can go from there.
MarkyMark I frequently fish the Beverly water front. Do you live near there?
Just asking in case we've met.
I will email people when I start fishing with available times.
In past years Wednesday evening and some morning during the week is when I have gone out.

howdy. i am the original shore bound striper hoar. i just got a yak so not so desparate. would enjoy fishing with you perhaps on your boat. i can offer good food good fun and lots of caffeine. will also share gas fee. i live in beverly so am available. also available short notice. i used to be a launch driver so know my way around operations and water safety. not much of a boat mechanic but nor am i a pessimist. can offer medical anecdotes and advice, but only when solicited. found it boring to talk about unless asked. let me know if your interested. my cell is 978 239-5052. 35 M with a long rod and local water knowledge. also own plenty of bad habits in case the medical thing diswades you

The good news is the invitation still stands for those who have shown interest.
The bad news is I was doing field trials on the boat and noticed an excessive amount of cavitaiton in the motor. I discaussed it with several people who know more about it than I and am going to have to shorten the transom by 1.5-2.0 inches. about a days work. I will be pulling the motor this week and alter the transom in the next couple of days.
Also still doing trim.
I will post when ready. Hopefully this Sunday.

I won't let Markymark and Tie Die Guy have all the fun.
I live in Beverly(and met both guys) and would appreciate fishing with you as well.
Have been fishing this area from shore for 7 years and only took up flyfishing during last Fall's epic blitz.
PM me if there is an opening.
Thanks
Rob

Well I did the work and will try to pick up motor Saturday.
If that works out I will be looking for partner Sunday.
I will post here when the motor is mounted. First reply after that goes fishing. Then I will be fishing Wednesdays after that, definitely. Other days/nights depending on mood and weather. Just hope the epoxy dries with tihs humidity.

Let the epoxy take it's course,no need to rush things! The more you let it dry,it will make less work for you later.Just keep in touch, when everything is ready , we will be also.

I will going fishing on Wednesday. So Let's see who will be available. The best way to do this I think is who lives farthest away and wants to travel.
Then based on availability. I would like to try Ipswich.
After that we can go in the order people posted. At the moment it looks like Jacobk if he is available.
Preferred method is fly but I have no problem with other methods. Please no bait unless it is an emergency (no keepers by July 1st ).

PS PM if interested and will check in to see responses.
PPS Jacob your mail box is full.
