Pretty weird day. Got to ponds around 1:30 and realized I hadn't got a license yet. Went and grabbed license and went back. In that hour or so the wind picked up. Anyways, first pond I hit was dead so I moved on after meeting a friend.
Next pond I kick out and hook up about 10 minutes later with a 15 inch, probably stockie Rainbow. I must say I was encouraged to see fish that size being stocked. Next cast I hook up again, drop that fish....Now I think I'm into a pod but I get nothing else. Doesn't help my buddy is struggling with leaky waders on the shoreline and some meat guy proceeds to throw 10 ounce weighted meat pattern literally 10 feet from me. Well at least when it hit the water it seemed to be that heavy...I stick around for the late day hatch, nothing going on. Those fish Ironically were about 10-15 feet under the midges...Fish never came up even as wind died later in the day...Left around sunset, something I never do, but the action was just so DEAD...
On a positive note I was getting surface temps of 50 degrees yesterday....
