View Full Version : Wading the Flats with a Flyrod- The Keys

Arrived at Conch Key on March 20 and returned North on April 5. The weather was so bad (wind, clouds and cool ) that I only got out four times. The times I fished and was able to have some visbility were not good as the water on the flats was cool and not much was moving. Saw four fish, cast to two and caught none. Fished Missouri Key, Curry Hammock and Sea Oats Beach. Saw all four fish at Sea Oats Beach. Better lyck next year, I hope.

Between poles 914 and 915 is a marker comemorating the donation of this property to the public. It is refered to as "Sea Oats Beach". Also, the locals use this name.
The fish I saw appeared over a large white spot about in line with the Shell station. With the limited visability, about the only sightings were over white sand.
The four fish I saw were big, about 10#s.
