Hey, was hoping a few of you New England Reel-Timers might be able to help out with some monomoy info. First and foremost I'm a Met fan (not a Yankee fan)
I plan on trailering my 20ft Maritime Skiff up to Monomoy this June or July. Secondly (in this order) I'll also be bringing my wife and 2 boys, age 5 and 8. Is there a place to stay close to a boat ramp which is close to the flatts? A campsite or an inexpensive hotel would suit us fine. Also if i were to choose the week according to tides, what should I be looking for? lastly, are there any kid friendly towns nearby with maybe a beachside amusement park. They love fishing, but should mix it up for them a little. would greatly appreciate any help.
I looked through the threads and din't really find what I was looking for.

A great camping area not that far is Nickerson State park. Lots of bike trails and freshwater ponds for swimmng and fishing. No amusement parks, but along rt 28 there are some great minigolf places. There is a drivein movie theater out in Wellfleet. Taking the family to one of the National Seashore beaches would provide playing in the surf with boogy boards.
With a boat tides are less of a factor at monomoy since if there not right for wading the flats, you can head out to fish some of the rips which hold good fish.
Next up is......

I second the Nickerson Sate Park suggestion. I have stayed there a few times. What's nice about that location is if it's too windy on the Chatham side it's usually pretty nice on the Brewster side which is right next to the park. The Brewster flats should also be a consideration for you. There are a couple of launches right in that area as well. ;)

do this in june or early july. after that all the traffic from the commerical fishermen can turn almost deadly, esp if you dont know how to work the dangerous, numerous rips. Just try an **** off those guys. Ryders Cove, in Chatham, has a public ramp that gets crowed and flowes into pleasant bay. From Strong Island to the Chatham Lighthouse are prime spots with sea worms.
