Starting working Peters mid-morning on Saturday...Place was like the ocean, probably 12-13 motor boats and the shores lined with anglers....Hooked up with 1 small 13 inch rainbow in morning. Took afternoon off to watch Sox at campsite. Went back out, wind never died, fish never came up, picked up another Rainbow about 15 inches slow trolling brown bead head wooly bugger...Water temps were about 48. Powerbaiters and meal worm guys were hooking up every now and then from shore....

On Sunday I went back out, at 7am. Place was more of the same. 13 boats and nasty NE winds at about 20. Me and friend, fishing in a canoe took off after about 2 hours and went to nearby pond. My friend picked up a 16 inch holdover Brown on silver streamer and I got 1 more stockie around 14 inches but fat as hell on white woolly bugger. The fish get FAT in this pond. While slow trolling near shore we ran over a 7LB Rainbow, NO LIE that casually swam under our canoe in this crystal clear pond. It was the biggest trout I've ever seen. I will be working this pond for the rest of the Spring in search of that fish and will tell you about it after I catch the PIG....

Wrapped the slow weekend up mid afternoon on Sunday...Most fishing was done slow trolling in canoe, which was practically the only way to fish with winds. I never got chance to go out in my tube....

I guess Peters started to produce some nice fish later in the weekend including a 2.5-3lb Rainbow to some guys that were trolling leadcore on a flyrod....

Hmmmmm!

Very interesting...Sounds like the holdovers may have been working they're way up the dropoffs this past weekend to perhaps warm up in the sun.

I'm going next weekend and fishing the drops from my tube with 2 inch woolly buggers. Forget about stockies I want one of those fish...
