great book....one of the best and most exciting that i have ever read concerning fishing. My dad gave me the book for Christmas and I couldn't put it down. Have you ever fished Popham Beach during the summer? I have a good friend you owns a couple of cottages near the beach and will bring my fly-rod this summer when I visit him. Where would you recommend fishing Popham beach? Thanks.

I don't know if it's part of the park but I liked the area around Fort Popham. There's a nice big cove there that I fished with my kayak and outside of the cove there is some fast moving water (too fast for my kayak) that held some fish, too. I fished it from shore. Great lobster shack just down from the fort that makes a perfect spot for lunch and a cold beer. I did okay at Popham Beach but nothing wild. Some other Reel-Timers probably have some more advice to add about the area.
If you get the chance, hit Reid State Park. I had better luck there (to stay past dark you'll need to get a permit from the ranger for a few bucks but it's worth it).
I'm delighted you enjoyed the book. It's nice to hear.
