Merrimack 5/1

Splashed the boat for the first time this year and made a run to rocks village. Couple of other boats up there but I did not see anyone hook up- I fished a hour or so before calling it quits.

The water temp in the river was 56. Watch out for floaters- just up river from Amesbury there is a vertical log sticking 6 inches above the water. Be careful.

Made my run out of the mouth and close to the #3 can the water was brown on one side (55 degrees) and green/blue (48 degrees) on the other side. Thought I may be able to pick up a fish or two but had no such luck.

Ran up to Joppa but nothing going on up there just yet.

Based on the positive reports just south of the Mack, they'll be here soon.

They gotta be around.
Found them all weekend only a 1/2 hour to the south.
Not the greatest tides on the Merrimack this weekend....depending upon your point of view.
They gotta break out by next weekend.

Picked up 10-15 bright schoolies on the Parker this afternoon on the outgoing tide. Nothing bigger than 15".

Nice work! What did you take them on?

Wind was blowing hard and head on, so I put the flyrod down pretty quickly and threw 4" Storm Wildeye Shad. Was picking em up almost every other cast.
