Another weird outing for me....Went with girfriend down to Falmouth...Didn't see much as the winds were howling 20-25 out of the Southwest. Sucked it up and fished for about 45 minutes on a non windy part of a pond at around 4:30. Picked up a 15 inch gorgeous Brookie with a nice little kipe on it on the brown bead head wooly bugger dredging the bottom.
Bounced between 2 ponds looking for fish feeding on the hatch into dark...Nothing going on again. I didn't even bother to wet a line. In 4 outings I have yet to come in contact with consistent rising fish down the Cape...Everytime I have been down there the winds have been howling at least 20 knots but even then at dark I have yet to find consistent rising fish...
Anyways, I was getting surface temps at 62...Trees haven't even really started to bloom down there yet...Buds have just started popping...My take on it is that the Stockies are spread out by now, so maybe another week or two until the real trout fishing begins...Timing seem right maybe things are a week behind or so...

I landed a 10lb largemouth at a cape pond this past saturday, was dropshotting with foot long nightcrawlers (okay I was cheating) along a WIND blown bank as MK stated, winds were crazy. I measured the length 24" and girth, just over 18", on a few different weight conversion tables on the internet and they all say my bass wasbetween 9 1/2-10 1/2 pounds --127-3- Fish was revived & released unharmed after a few pictures :-%

Oh and by the way, the trout fishing has been slooow with flies, metal guys are getting a fish here and there, dad managed a brooking on the fly after an hour in the howling wind, powerbait guys are taking there limits of decent fish within an hour or two usually, but the good goes with the bad I guess, although I'm not catching the numbers of fish I was catching last year as my records tell me, I am deffenetly seeing many more big trout, I have already seen over 4 or 5 20"+ trout taken from my spot alone this year.
