I was wondering if anyone could advise me the best rigging for weakfish off the waters on Long Island. I would mostly be fishing from dock areas. I also need to replace my 20 year old fishing rod and real, any suggestions that wont break my wallet. Thanks

Temple Fork Outfitters rods are great rods at a low place. These graphite rods are very affordable with a lifetime guarantee. Good saltwater rods are available for $150-250. :brow As for a real I can't tell you much as I haven't fished with many reels, however I have heard good things about Lamson and Teton. Ross is very good but the next bracket up in price. Not sure what you want to pay but that would be a good way to go.

i agree, i own a tfo 5 wt. that is great. all my other rods are sage and scott (very expensive), and it's almost as good as them, for $199. i have heard that teton tioga (i think) is a good cheap saltwater reel. also, i have a friend who swears by redington reels, which i've seen under $200. check sierra trading post online, they sometimes have real cheap prices. good luck.
