all fish from this week caught on Flies- a hell of a week in Jamaica Bay and may have been the best fishing I have ever see here. 2 friends also got a 26lb and a 27lber. Frank Cressiltelli clients last week got 2 30+ pounders. what a treat for the early season here. lets hope they are here today for the CCA Manhattan Cup

Nice fish. Whats accounting for the big fish?? Are you guys fishing around schools of large bunker??

Not fishing around Bunker, I think these fish are waiting around to go up the Hudson to Spawn, but have been waylaid because there is so much bait here right now. we got the winning fish for the Manhattan Cup today on a fly. 25.5 pounds as well as at 21.5 and 3 others above 10 pounds. Kerry Hefernan caught it while fishing with Tracey Warmus and myself. real cool and lucky. will post a photo when I get it. 40 inches and 22.5 girth!!! this seems to be the time right now to get a fish of a lifetime.
