The wind has finally stopped blowing. It has been 15-20 (mostly on the 20 side) since October with a few spurts of 10-15's in there.

Dolphin are roaming everywhere offshore. Hit some nice schools of 5-10 pounders around 400 feet and played with the flyrod for a while to collect dinner. Headed further south to deeper water and ran into some scattered weed holding cruising fish in the 25-40 pound range. Hooked up (trolling) with a nice one that spit the hook. Marlin and Sailfish were also seen cruising the same areas. Usually we troll until we locate the fish and then stop and throw the fly.

The reef is hopping with Snapper and Grouper in 60-100 feet on bottom structure. Chum and let the bait freeline naturally. Most hits on Yellowtail are on the drop or as soon as you flip the bail and start to wind back. Live Pinfish, live Pilchards and squid strips work best.
