thanks, brendan, i actually was supposed to go to monomoy this weekend, a buddy of mine lives up there in chatham. now he can't make it, and i've never been... so it seems like a long drive to go exploring alone. also, i get the vibe that this weekend it's gonna be a zoo. do you know if it's a big enough place to fish with out being elbow to elbow with guys? i had a spin guy on my back last night on the north shore, i wanted to snag him on every backcast (and almost did a bunch of times). so i'm not big on crowd scenes. otherwise, i'd maybe give monomoy a try.

yea probably busy, but it is huge as I will attch a photo here. you can get the ferry over to there, check the NE board on how. a 10 foot aluminum ladder I think would be key. otherwise I would say go to East Hampton, but I have charter the next 7 of 8 days, so I dont want to crowdin me (just Kiddin) the access is kinda tough out there, as far as parking stickers and stuff

If you're not big on crowd scenes you might want to avoid Monomoy this weekend. It is going to be mobbed with people. It's never "elbow to elbow" but it only takes 1 or 2 guys standing waist deep to kill a flat for everyone else (100's of yards). You can bet there will be plenty of people doing that this weekend with the weather forecast.
If you still go all you have to do is take the ferry over, get in knee-deep water and try to spot the fish cruising. There is no reason to blind cast or stand deeper than knee deep on the flats...you will only hurt your chances and spook a lot of fish for yourself and others.
Nauset and the outer beaches have been hot. That is where I'll be snooping around --126-3-
Danny,
If you do go to Chatham, there plenty of fish at most every place the water touches sand. This is shaping up to be a great weather weekend up this way. If you go try these 3 spots;
South Beach (both ocean side at any tide, and the bay side at high to dropping tide)
Morris Island (not really an island)
You can fish the area infront of the lighthouse, but it's not as good as it used to be. You walk right by it on the way to SB.
These 3 spots alone offer what at time appears to be endless beaches and cruising stripers.
Stop in at Fishing The Cape in Harwich for more info or PM me. There are few secrets needed for a good day of fishing in Chatam. This time of year is knock-down-grag-out great fishing.
Ray
Ps. A group from reel-time will be there all weekend.
Pss. Though the pic attached above is a great reference, it's VERY old. Note the bathtub hasn't even closed off yet and the shape of SB. But it does give an idea of the flats!!!
