Sandy Hook?

How's the fishing at Sandy Hook right now? This query includes activity of most local fish including bait. Any and all help would be great.

Lots of bluefish, and they took a couple of very nice flatwings from me as a matter of fact. I'm not totally comfortable using wire for bass, especially with a flatwing. I think it ruins the action.

Bass have got to show up soon. They were here earlier in the season, but when these 3-5lb blues showed up, they seemed to move elsewhere. Lots of small bait around, spearing and anchovies.

Occasional bass taken on bait (clam).

Next couple of weeks will tell.
