Got back from the Keys last week and here is my late report. Fished from Long key down to Sugarloaf, all from shore both light spin and fly. Caught a good amount of fish and a good variety. Here is the list: Three Tarpon up to 35 lbs, more Barracuda than I can count many over 45", Jacks, Snapper, Lemon sharks, Spanish macks and an assortment of smaller fish. My father and brother even managed to catch 5 Grouper up to 28". Soft plastics and metal produced the best for spinning but the Grouper took Crystal minnows. For flies, Candies, Clousers and Bunny strips worked for me. Only saw a few Bones and one Permit on the flats but no reel chances. I had a great time and it was great to fish with my pop.
