Narrow River RI

Anyone fished Narrow River? Any recommendations for locations to fish on the river and times of day? Thanks.

First & last light. From Rt 1A, parking at the bridge on North bound side. Up river is shallower than the down river side. However I think the down river side has a better chance for a larger fish due to the deeper water. Parking behind the Dunn's Club will allow you access to mouth on the sand bar side. Fish the sand bar on dropping tides. Or if you can't park at the Club, park just down the street at the museum parking entrance on the south bound side & fish the town beach to the mouth. I lived in Gansett for bout 10 years and fished it often. The North side rocks at the mouth is good but be out of there before high water and parking is none.

Also good at night and a good eeling and unweighted sluggo area. Agree that outgoing is best near the mouth and there is a lot of structure. Upriver can be good on incoming and slack, and there are some deeper pools here and there. If you are jigging or using weighted plastics, more than 1/2 oz and you are usually dragging bottom on any tide. Swimming plugs and flies in the river work well, except when the bass are on micro bait. Right on the full and new moons can be sometimes be tough with screaming current and little water near low, but a few days before or after can be good. Some guys access the north side rocks by floating a boat down from the bridge, but it can be tricky to land when the current is honking. I'd try in daytime first before attempting it at night.

I'm going to be fly fishing and will be wading so I think I'm somewhat limited in how far I can go. I know where the bridge is on 1A and know theres some shallow wading spots where people put Kayaks and canoes in at the bridge and to the right of the put in (southbound side of bridge?) I'll give it a shot. Thanks.
